About the course
This master’s program develops advanced knowledge and practical skills in nutrition and dietetics, including pathophysiology of nutrition-related illness, health promotion, communication and counselling, and clinical, food service and community/public health practice. Learning is highly applied through lectures and tutorials alongside placements, site visits and food practicals, with assessment designed to build competency for professional practice as a nutritionist or dietitian.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across hospitals and health services, community and public health, sports nutrition, food service management and the food industry, as well as education and research. Potential roles include clinical or sports dietitian, community health dietitian, private practitioner/consultant, diabetes educator, research project officer and health promotion officer. The course is accredited by Dietitians Australia, supporting professional recognition for practice.
