About the course
This master’s degree builds advanced capability in food science through professional training in food safety, food engineering and food product design. You’ll learn in Murdoch’s Food Centre within the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia, gaining exposure to an industry-connected innovation environment. The course culminates in a substantial research project or project and dissertation completed in collaboration with industry, preparing you for master’s-level practice in food sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles across the food and beverage sector, including Product Quality Manager, New Product Development Officer and Food Safety Officer. The course also supports pathways into applied research and innovation roles, including positions in food processing research facilities and analytical service providers supporting industry testing and quality assurance (e.g., biological or chemistry-based laboratories).
