About the course
This advanced science honours degree is designed for high-achieving students seeking early immersion in research. You’ll join a small cohort, bypass broad introductory science units and move straight into your chosen major, supported by leading QUT researchers and access to world-class labs. A quantitative mathematics minor strengthens analytical capability, and research projects are embedded throughout the program. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in Sciences. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for pathways into scientific research and research-led industry roles, supported by substantial project experience developed from first year. Depending on the chosen major, outcomes may include roles such as research assistant, laboratory or analytical scientist, environmental or earth science practitioner, and science data/quantitative analyst. The degree also provides strong preparation for further study and research training in Sciences at honours level.
