About the course
This degree builds foundational knowledge for medical diagnosis and disease management, combining theory with hands-on laboratory experience using contemporary technologies. You study core biomedical science areas including anatomy, physiology, genetics, microbiology, histology, biochemistry and haematology, progressing to immunohaematology, infectious disease, histopathology and genetic pathology. Graduates are prepared for pathology and clinical laboratory work as Bachelor-level medical laboratory scientists.

Graduates are prepared to work in pathology and clinical laboratory settings performing clinical testing, analysing specimens and producing accurate results for medical decision-making. The course supports development of critical and clinical reasoning for interpreting data and supporting patient care pathways.
