About the course

The Master of Engineering prepares graduates with prior civil engineering studies to qualify as professional civil engineers. You’ll build strong foundations in engineering sciences and practice, then deepen capability through a Civil Engineering specialisation covering geotechnical and structural systems, transport, water and environmental management. The course includes advanced electives, industry-guided research, and a 60-day professional placement within a Master’s-level civil engineering program.

Graduates are prepared for professional civil engineering roles focused on analysing and solving complex infrastructure and built-environment challenges. Potential pathways include civil or graduate engineer positions across geotechnical, structural, transport and water engineering, as well as environmental management and consulting. The combination of advanced electives, industry-guided research and a 60-day placement supports readiness for practice in public agencies, contractors and engineering consultancies in a Master’s-level civil engineering discipline.
