About the course
Western’s Master of Teaching (Secondary) prepares graduates to teach in secondary schools through a blend of on-campus learning and supervised school placements. Designed for those with a specialist undergraduate background, it builds strong curriculum and pedagogical skills, professional practice, and a commitment to equity and ongoing development. The course is NESA accredited and aligns with Australian Professional Standards for Graduate Teachers for Master-level secondary teaching.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as secondary school teachers in government and non-government schools in Australia and, in many cases, overseas. The qualification also supports related pathways such as education policy, curriculum development and education administration.
