About the course
The Master of Teaching (Primary) prepares graduates to teach children aged 5–12 through evidence-based study and extensive, well-supported school placements. Students learn from experienced educators and develop practical classroom skills through a comprehensive placement program in Victoria. The course emphasises understanding and responding to individual learner needs across diverse backgrounds and abilities.
What you might learn
Students develop the knowledge and practice skills needed to plan, teach and assess learning across all primary years. The course builds capability in creating safe and supportive learning environments, promoting positive behaviour, and using research-informed teaching strategies. It also strengthens inclusive practice through engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and approaches to teaching and learning.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for careers as generalist primary school teachers across the full range of primary year levels. The qualification supports eligibility to register with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, enabling employment in primary schools and related education settings. Graduates may work in roles supporting student learning and wellbeing, inclusive education, and curriculum and classroom practice across diverse school communities.

IELTS 7.0: with speaking and listening 7.5 and no other band less than 7.0
