About the course

This two-year Master of Clinical Audiology provides comprehensive training in the assessment and management of hearing and balance, integrating evidence-based practice with advanced technologies such as hearing aids and cochlear implants. The program combines on-campus teaching with substantial supervised clinical placements that begin in first year and increase over the degree. Students also complete a research project in the second year related to the field of audiology.

What you might learn

Students develop the scientific foundations and clinical skills needed to assess auditory and vestibular function using specialised diagnostic tests and interpret results to determine the site and type of impairment. The course builds competence in rehabilitation and patient-centred management, including the effective use of hearing technologies to optimise communication outcomes. It also develops research literacy and applied research skills through a supervised project in the final year.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared to work as practising audiologists providing assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation services for adults and children with hearing and balance conditions. Career opportunities include clinical roles in hospital and community health services, private hearing clinics, and specialised centres delivering services such as cochlear implant programs and paediatric audiology. Audiologists also work in multidisciplinary teams alongside ENT specialists, speech pathologists and paediatric healthcare providers, with pathways into research or further doctoral study for high-performing students.
