About the course

The Diploma of Indigenous Research is designed exclusively for Indigenous students and supports culturally grounded, place-based research. Students draw on their own knowledge, heritage and cultural traditions to build practical research skills, explore key issues and themes, and undertake an on-ground research project in urban or remote Aboriginal communities. The course is flexible, with all units available online alongside supported project supervision for this Diploma in Indigenous research.

Career outcome

Graduates develop skills to undertake and support research in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts. Career pathways include research and project roles within Indigenous organisations and communities, government departments and agencies, and private organisations involved in Indigenous research and engagement. The course also recognises existing Indigenous research capabilities and helps apply them across new settings and projects, aligned to a Diploma-level qualification in Indigenous research.
