About the course
This Certificate III prepares you to provide person-centred support to older people and individuals with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities. You’ll build practical skills to assist with daily living and promote wellbeing while working in line with care plans and workplace procedures. Delivered on campus at RMIT’s Melbourne City location, this vocational qualification supports entry-level work in aged care and disability support. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in aged care and disability services delivering direct support to clients in residential, community or home-care settings. Typical roles can include aged and disability carer, disability support officer, community support worker, welfare support roles and related support positions in schools or services. This Certificate III is designed as an entry-level vocational pathway in individual support within the health and community sector. Preparing graduates for nursing assistant, care worker, and clinical support roles, or degree articulation.
