About the course
This Bachelor of Science - SMAH (Cell and Molecular Biology) explores life at the cellular and molecular level, building skills in laboratory-based investigation and scientific thinking. You’ll study core biological concepts alongside broader science foundations and apply them to real-world challenges in health, biotechnology and the environment. This is an on-campus undergraduate science degree at the University of Wollongong. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles across biomedical and environmental labs, biotechnology and research organisations. Typical pathways include molecular biologist, microbiologist, immunologist, DNA analyst, clinical research associate, laboratory technician, bioinformatics or biomanufacturing specialist, and related research assistant roles. Outcomes align to an undergraduate science qualification in cell and molecular biology at UOW. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
