About the course
Bachelor of Public Health (Honours) is a one-year, intensive honours programme focused on independent public health research. You will complete a supervised thesis and build advanced skills through seminars and workshops in research methods, statistics and ethics. Study is delivered in person at Bedford Park, with flexible attendance options for most topics. This honours year supports progression into PhD study and research-led public health practice. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates gain a strong foundation for research, policy and leadership pathways in public health. The honours thesis and research training support roles such as research assistant/officer, public health analyst, policy or programme support roles in government and NGOs, and positions in research institutes and health services. The degree is also a key stepping stone to higher degree research (e.g., PhD) in public health. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
