About the course
This one-year honours program builds on an accredited three-year psychology sequence and develops advanced, pre-professional capabilities. You will strengthen interviewing and counselling skills, culturally responsive and ethical practice, foundational assessment and psychometric theory, and critical appraisal of evidence-based interventions. Supported by academic staff, you complete a supervised psychology research project to extend your research methods and data analysis skills in psychology at honours level.
Career outcome
Graduates gain an honours-level qualification that supports progression toward registration as a psychologist in Australia through further accredited study. The course strengthens research capability and professional communication skills relevant to assistant and research roles in health, community, and education settings. It also provides a key pathway for eligibility to apply for fifth-year accredited psychology study, Clinical Masters pathways, and entry into higher degree research such as a PhD in psychology.
