About the course
This honours degree prepares you for purpose-driven social work practice grounded in social justice, human rights and collective wellbeing. You’ll learn to support individuals, families and communities experiencing marginalisation while critically examining structural drivers such as poverty, racism, gender inequality and colonialism. The program emphasises feminist, culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches, Indigenous knowledges, and evidence-informed practice in community and statutory settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across community services, health and social assistance, child protection, housing, disability and justice, education, and government and non-government organisations. Career pathways commonly include case management, family support, community development, mental health and AOD services, homelessness support, and policy and advocacy roles. The degree supports work that combines direct practice with community action and systemic reform in social work. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
