About the course

CDU’s Master of Social Work (Qualifying) prepares you to practise as a professional social worker across diverse settings, including urban, regional, remote and international contexts. The AASW-accredited course develops capability in social justice, human rights, culturally responsive practice, critical reflection, research and advocacy, supported by two substantial field placements to connect theory with real-world practice in Master-level social work training.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue social work roles across government and community sectors, applying critical thinking and culturally responsive practice with diverse populations. Opportunities include child protection, health, education, aged care and residential services, family violence, alcohol and other drugs, justice, First Nations organisations, refugee and humanitarian services, not-for-profit agencies, international development, and social policy or research—career pathways aligned to Master-level professional social work practice.
