About the course
This course builds theoretical and practical foundations for work in community welfare and human services. You’ll develop skills in case management, community development, counselling, advocacy, organisational practice and social research, with an emphasis on social justice, human rights and collaboration. Study areas include mental health, trauma‑informed practice, Indigenous worldviews, child protection, youth work and disability, supported by extensive supervised placements.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles across community welfare and human services, working with individuals, families and communities. Career paths can include community welfare worker, case manager, youth worker, disability or mental health support roles, and community development or advocacy positions in government and non‑government organisations. The bachelor degree can also provide a pathway to further study towards social work qualification. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
