About the course
This PhD enables you to undertake advanced, original research in a health or health-services topic within Deakin’s School of Medicine, supported by expert supervision. Research can span areas such as rural and regional practice, chronic disease management, service evaluation, health and wellbeing, public health, medical education and optometry. You will be part of Deakin’s higher degree by research community and use strong facilities and partnerships to complete a doctoral thesis in health sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research and leadership roles across universities, health services, government and industry. Career pathways may include academic researcher, postdoctoral fellow, health services researcher, public health analyst, evaluation specialist, research consultant or policy adviser, contributing evidence to improve health systems and outcomes.
