About the course
UNSW’s Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine/Arts is an eight-year dual program combining medical training with a dedicated Arts component. You’ll build strong foundations in biomedical science and clinical practice while developing broader perspectives through humanities and social sciences. The course is designed for students seeking an integrated pathway into medical practice alongside advanced skills in critical thinking and communication in Medicine at Bachelor level.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to pursue a pathway toward becoming a medical practitioner after completing required postgraduate training and registration steps. The added Arts component supports careers that value leadership, communication and social insight alongside clinical expertise. Possible directions include hospital and community medicine, research-informed practice, health policy and advocacy roles, and work in multidisciplinary health settings, aligned with a Medicine-focused Bachelor program.
