About the course
Waardong First Nations Veterinary Medicine and Science Path is an enabling support program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in veterinary medicine or related animal and biological science degrees at Murdoch. It provides academic, social and cultural support, including scaffolded supplementary tutoring alongside core and elective units. Students may spread first-year study over two years and can take Orientation Chemistry if needed. The programme develops scientific knowledge and analytical skills aligned with its qualification level and industry expectations.

This enabling pathway is designed to strengthen academic readiness and ongoing study support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students progressing through veterinary medicine and related animal/biological science degrees. It helps build confidence with university study, foundational science capability (including chemistry support where needed), and access to structured tutoring. Outcomes align to improved progression toward careers in veterinary practice, animal health, and biological science fields.
