About the course
The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine is a four-year graduate-entry degree designed to prepare you for professional veterinary practice in Australia and globally. It combines research-driven teaching in the One Health framework with core coursework, clinical skills training, and extensive placements. In the final year you complete supervised rotations as a student intern across university teaching hospitals and partner sites. This is a doctoral-level qualification in Veterinary Science.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as registered veterinary practitioners across companion animal, equine, livestock and mixed practice settings. The program’s strong clinical placement and rotation structure supports pathways into emergency and hospital practice, rural and production animal health, biosecurity and government roles, and veterinary public health. Skills in One Health also support careers linking animal, human and environmental health. This is a doctoral-level qualification in Veterinary Science.
