About the course
This online professional certificate draws on evidence-based research and insights from the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education and education researcher John Hattie to help teachers strengthen their classroom practice. It introduces contemporary evidence-based teaching methods and focuses on designing effective teaching interventions to support individual student growth. Students also develop capability in student assessment and observation to improve teaching quality.
What you might learn
Students learn key theories of how students learn, grounded in current educational research, to better identify and address learning needs. The course develops skills to generate, interpret and evaluate multiple forms of student data and use that evidence to plan targeted interventions. It aims to build practical, research-informed decision-making for improved student outcomes.
