About the course
This postgraduate counselling suite develops evidence-based therapeutic skills to support individuals, families and communities across diverse settings. Study focuses on behavioural health needs such as youth and families, wellbeing, telehealth, chronic conditions, addictions, grief and loss, disability and priority communities. Learning includes practical seminars and workshops, with competency-based supervised placements embedded in the Diploma and Masters pathways in behavioural health counselling.
Career outcome
Graduates can work in counselling and behavioural health roles across health care, community and not-for-profit organisations, education, and private practice. The program builds capabilities in evidence-based interventions and working with complex presentations including mental health and chronic conditions, addictions, grief and loss and disability. Depending on the award, graduates may pursue professional recognition and contribute to improved mental health service delivery in counselling and wellbeing settings.
