About the course
The Master of Teaching (Secondary) is designed for graduates from non-teaching degrees who want to qualify as secondary teachers for Years 7–12. You’ll gain a formal teaching qualification, develop inclusive classroom practice, and build strong links with school communities. The course includes professional experience immersion early in the degree and weekly blocks, with 60 days of supervised placement, including an optional rural/remote placement in NSW. The programme enhances curriculum leadership, pedagogical innovation, and educational policy understanding for professional educators.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles in secondary education and related learning settings, including secondary school teacher (Years 7–12) in public, private or faith-based schools, as well as pathways into educational consulting, training and development, digital education support and education policy roles. The degree is a Master-level initial teacher education qualification focused on professional practice for secondary teaching specialisations. Preparing graduates for education leadership, instructional design, and advanced teaching specialist roles.
