About the course
The Master of Teaching (Secondary) is a 2-year coursework degree for graduates with an approved undergraduate qualification who want to become a secondary school teacher. You’ll build strong curriculum and pedagogy knowledge, learning from contemporary research and completing substantial school-based learning, including 60 days of supervised professional experience. Graduates can apply for teacher registration in Queensland and pursue secondary teaching in Australia or internationally.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to teach specialist subjects in secondary schools, with eligibility to apply for teacher registration in Queensland. Career pathways include secondary teacher roles in state and independent schools in Australia and overseas. With experience and/or further study, graduates may progress into school leadership and student support positions such as head of department, principal, guidance officer, learning support teacher or student adviser in secondary education settings.
