About the course
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a higher degree by research undertaken in the broad area of education. Over two years full-time (or part-time equivalent), you complete an independent research project and submit a substantial thesis or a creative portfolio with an accompanying exegesis. You will work closely with an academic supervisory team that provides guidance throughout candidature. This is a Masters by research in Education & Teaching. The programme supports education-focused research in pedagogy, curriculum, and learning sciences through supervised thesis work.
Career outcome
This MPhil prepares you for advanced professional practice in roles that require complex research skills across universities, industry, community organisations and government settings. It also provides a pathway to further research study, including progression toward a Doctor of Philosophy. Graduates are suited to research-focused positions such as research officer, policy or program analyst, and academic or education research roles.
