About the course
The Master of Teaching (Secondary) is designed for graduates who want to teach Years 7–12. It builds professional knowledge and classroom practice through curriculum studies, supervised professional experience placements, and exploration of key issues in education. The program supports eligibility to apply for teacher registration and can be completed in an accelerated 1.5-year pathway or a standard 2-year pathway in education and secondary teaching. The programme enhances curriculum leadership, pedagogical innovation, and educational policy understanding for professional educators.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to enter the secondary teaching profession with confidence and competence. Typical outcomes include employment as a secondary school teacher in public or private schools, with pathways into leadership and coordination roles over time. Other roles can include community education officer and education/engagement officer, as well as curriculum, policy and advisory positions within education departments and related organisations in secondary education.
