About the course
The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) prepares graduates for generalist social work practice with a strong focus on social justice, human rights and culturally responsive, ethical support. You will build core knowledge, skills and values for work across community, health and human services settings, with themes of decolonising practice, sustainability and collaboration. The degree includes at least 1,000 hours of supervised field education placement as a Master-level qualifying social work programme.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for entry to the social work profession in roles that support individuals, families and communities across diverse settings. Career paths commonly include practice in community organisations, health and hospital services, government and non-government human services, child and family support, mental health and advocacy work. The course is designed to equip you for changing workplaces through applied learning and extensive placements within a Master-level social work qualification.
