About the course

The Master of Humanitarianism and Development builds advanced expertise in humanitarian action and international and community development. You will examine the causes and impacts of global crises and disasters, and explore community-led, socially just responses across diverse contexts. The course is shaped by industry and taught by experienced academics, with options to study online or on campus and tailor learning through electives and specialisation streams.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for roles across humanitarian assistance, disaster response and resilience, and international or community development. Skills in project management, monitoring and evaluation, research and data analysis, policy and advocacy support work with NGOs, government and international agencies. The degree supports careers focused on social justice outcomes in humanitarianism and development practice at a master’s level within Sociology & Social Work. Preparing graduates for organisational psychology, counselling support, human services, and specialist practitioner pathways.
