About the course
The Master of Secondary Teaching is a two-year graduate-entry initial teacher education program designed to prepare graduates to teach in Years 7–12. You’ll build professional knowledge and classroom practice through a blend of on-campus learning and supported experiences aligned to secondary schooling. The course is delivered by UC’s Faculty of Education at the Bruce (Canberra) campus as a masters-level teacher preparation qualification in secondary education. The programme enhances curriculum leadership, pedagogical innovation, and educational policy understanding for professional educators.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for work as secondary school teachers across Years 7–12, with opportunities in government and non-government schools and related education settings. The degree supports development of professional practice for planning, teaching and assessing learning in secondary classrooms, and can also provide a pathway into broader roles such as learning support, curriculum support or education project work.
