About the course
The Master of Philosophy (SMAH) in Medicine offers an opportunity to undertake an independent research project within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health. You will work under academic supervision to develop advanced research skills and produce a thesis that contributes new knowledge. The degree can be completed full-time or part-time and is delivered on campus at Wollongong. This is a Masters by research in Medicine. The programme advances health sciences research through evidence-based inquiry, clinical context, and supervised thesis development.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused pathways in medical and health-related settings, including roles as research assistants/officers, research coordinators, and candidates for further higher degree research such as a PhD. The programme develops skills in research design, analysis, scholarly writing and project delivery that support careers in universities, hospitals, research institutes and related government or industry organisations.
