About the course
UNE’s Joint Medical Program is a two-stage, five-year pathway leading to a Bachelor of Medical Science followed by a Doctor of Medicine, delivered in partnership with the University of Newcastle. It is designed for students who want to study medicine in regional Australia, combining foundational medical science with clinically focused training. The program is an undergraduate-entry pathway in Medicine. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to progress toward medical practice through the Doctor of Medicine component and subsequent internship and registration pathways. The program supports careers across clinical medicine and a wide range of health settings, with strong relevance to regional and community healthcare needs.
