About the course
The Master of Philosophy in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences is a research degree where you undertake supervised independent study and produce a substantial thesis. You will develop advanced research skills and contribute new knowledge in your chosen area while engaging with the faculty’s research community. This is a Masters by research focused on Materials Engineering. The programme applies rigorous engineering research methods to address complex technical challenges and advance sustainable innovation.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue research-focused roles in industry or government, or continue to doctoral study. The degree builds capabilities in problem definition, research design, data analysis and scholarly communication that are valued in R&D, advanced technical consulting and innovation teams.
