About the course
This undergraduate Low Carbon Transition Specialisation builds knowledge for moving from conventional to greener energy systems. You’ll explore key technologies and challenges across natural gas processing, pipeline corrosion, combustion in transitional energy, and electricity transmission and distribution networks. Designed as a four-unit specialisation, it is taken alongside an eligible Curtin degree to help tailor your engineering pathway toward energy transition work. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.

Graduates can apply this specialisation to support roles in the energy transition across engineering and energy-sector organisations. Typical pathways include work on natural gas and transitional fuels, corrosion and integrity in pipeline operations, combustion and process support, and transmission and distribution network projects. This specialisation complements a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) by strengthening capability in low-carbon energy systems and infrastructure.
