About the course
This master’s degree prepares qualified paramedics for advanced practice in community paramedicine across urgent care, non-urgent care and primary healthcare settings. It emphasises clinical issues encountered in practice and builds deeper clinical decision-making, critical thinking and advanced clinical reasoning. Students also develop evidence-based practice and applied research skills to support ongoing improvement in their own practice and to contribute to better outcomes across services and the wider healthcare system.
Career outcome
Graduates may progress into advanced paramedicine and extended care roles focused on community and primary healthcare contexts. Career paths can include senior or specialist paramedic positions supporting urgent and non-urgent assessment, expanded-scope clinical decision-making, and service improvement through evidence-based practice. The degree also supports progression into roles involving clinical leadership, quality improvement and practice development within ambulance services and broader healthcare organisations in advanced paramedicine.
