About the course
This course prepares graduates for contemporary osteopathic practice, responding to demand for holistic, preventative manual therapy for musculoskeletal and functional disorders. You will build advanced understanding of osteopathic theory and evidence-informed practice, develop rigorous clinical reasoning, and complete substantial supervised clinical experience (around 610 hours) in SCU’s Health Clinic and other settings. This is a Master coursework degree in osteopathic medicine.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue primary healthcare careers as osteopathic practitioners, working with patients to assess and treat musculoskeletal and related functional conditions using manual therapy and holistic management. Employment settings may include private osteopathic practice, multidisciplinary health clinics, community health services and allied health teams, with opportunities to contribute to preventative care and patient education. This is a Master coursework pathway to osteopathic practice.
