About the course
The Master of Occupational Hygiene builds specialist capability to identify, measure and control workplace exposures that affect health. Designed for science, engineering and health science graduates, it covers quantitative exposure assessment and risk controls across hazards such as dusts, gases and vapours, noise, vibration, radiation, biological and ergonomic risks, and emerging issues like nanotechnology. The program includes an industry-based research project in occupational hygiene.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles focused on protecting worker and community health by assessing and managing occupational hazards. Career paths typically include occupational hygienist or exposure scientist roles in mining, manufacturing, construction, government regulators, consulting firms, and large organisations with health, safety and environment teams.
