About the course
This entry-level qualification builds foundation skills for support roles across health, aged care and residential care settings, and can also pathway into further study. You’ll learn to work with people from diverse backgrounds, recognise healthy body systems, manage behaviours of concern, and assist with patient transport. Training is guided by experienced industry professionals to help you transition into the healthcare sector. This is a Certificate II in Health Support Services in health.
Career outcome
Graduates can seek work in hospitals and other care environments in general support positions. Typical roles include ward assistant or orderly support, food services assistant in a hospital, and laundry services worker. The course also supports progression into further health-sector training for broader opportunities as experience and additional qualifications are gained.
