About the course
This AQF Level 9 Master of Midwifery (Research) develops advanced research capability for midwives who want to investigate issues in maternity care. You will pursue an area of interest and design and implement a substantial research project under supervision from experienced midwifery researchers. The degree supports progression to higher degree research and research roles in the midwifery and broader nursing discipline. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused roles in maternity services, universities, health services and policy settings. Career pathways may include clinical or health-service researcher, research officer, project/evaluation roles, and progression toward doctoral study and academic careers. The qualification strengthens evidence-based practice leadership through advanced research training in the midwifery and nursing discipline.
