About the course
Developed with industry partners, the Bachelor of Youth Work prepares you to work professionally with young people and communities. You’ll draw on humanities and social science perspectives to understand barriers affecting young people, and build ethical, socially just practice. The course is practical and supports independent decision-making and initiative, with supervised opportunities to engage with young people and community settings in youth work contexts. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue youth-focused roles across community, education, health and social services settings. Career pathways may include youth development officer, student support officer, case worker, and roles in youth centres and youth employment services. The degree also supports work in drug and alcohol services, homelessness support, residential care, and mental health or social and emotional wellbeing programs for young people. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
