This Master of Arts by Research in History and Archaeology at Flinders develops advanced research capability through an individual research project in history, archaeology or maritime archaeology. You will work closely with experienced supervisors to investigate a specialised topic, build deep disciplinary expertise, and contribute new knowledge to your field. The degree is designed for independent scholarly inquiry in arts and humanities research. The programme emphasises independent research, methodology, and thesis development aligned with the discipline's scholarly standards.

Graduates gain high-level research, analysis and communication skills suited to roles across government, consultancies, charities, think tanks, universities and corporate research settings.
