About the course
Charles Sturt University’s Master of Agricultural Science (with specialisations) develops advanced capability for professional and leadership roles across agriculture, agribusiness and sustainability. Study online or on campus and build expertise through core subjects plus a substantial research component, including a 32-point dissertation. The course emphasises contemporary and emerging agricultural technologies and prepares graduates for strategic management, policy and research pathways in agriculture at master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue leadership and specialist roles across farming systems, agribusiness and natural resource management. Typical pathways include agricultural consultant, extension officer and Landcare officer, as well as advisory, advocacy and policy roles. Opportunities also extend to catchment management, agricultural education and training, rural counselling, agricultural finance, and executive or strategic management positions within public agencies, industry bodies and private enterprises in the agriculture sector.
