About the course
The Diploma of Legal Studies is a pathway qualification offering foundational knowledge of legal and justice studies. You’ll build skills in legal research and writing while developing an understanding of the Australian legal system, including criminal process, family law, contract law and ethics. Delivered through SCU College with embedded academic support and online resources, it can also provide up to eight units of credit into related law pathway degrees. The programme introduces legal documentation, office procedures, and foundational legal knowledge for support roles.

This diploma builds entry-level capability for work in legal and justice-related environments where foundational legal knowledge and strong communication skills are valued. Graduates may support administrative and paralegal-style tasks, assist with legal research and documentation, and work in roles across legal services, government and community organisations.
