This Doctor of Philosophy in Law is a higher degree by research focused on producing an original thesis under expert supervision. You will develop advanced theoretical and methodological expertise to investigate a legal research problem and contribute new knowledge to the discipline. The program is primarily research-based, with limited coursework where required, and supports your development through access to resources and opportunities such as conference participation in Law.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers as academic researchers and university lecturers, or as specialist legal researchers and policy analysts in government, courts, regulators, NGOs and industry. The degree also supports advanced practice in law reform, compliance, governance and advocacy roles where rigorous evidence-based analysis is required.
