About the course
The Diploma of Education is a one-year (full-time or part-time equivalent) pathway course that builds foundational knowledge and skills for study in education and teaching. Students select a specialisation spanning early childhood, primary, or secondary-focused streams (including STEM, humanities, technology or arts pathways). It is designed as preparation for further bachelor-level study, with potential credit towards related education and arts degrees, and includes additional learning support through SCU College.
Career outcome
This diploma can prepare graduates for entry-level paraprofessional roles that support learning in education settings, such as teacher support and library assistant positions. It is also intended as a pathway into bachelor-level teaching and education degrees, where students may receive credit depending on their chosen specialisation.
