About the course
Charles Sturt University’s Graduate Diploma of Mammography prepares qualified radiographers to meet growing demand for breast screening and imaging services. You’ll build specialist capability in mammography practice, breast imaging, physics and instrumentation, supported by online learning and intensive school components. The course includes substantial workplace-based clinical placement with BreastScreen Australia or an approved diagnostic facility, developing professional, ethical and consumer-centred care skills in medical imaging.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as mammographic technologists within multidisciplinary breast imaging teams. You’ll be equipped to support screening, assessment and diagnostic services across BreastScreen Australia sites, including fixed centres and mobile or remote units, as well as approved diagnostic facilities. The course emphasises safe, sensitive, culturally aware and consumer-centred practice, supporting women’s preventive health through early detection in medical imaging.
