About the course
This graduate diploma builds theoretical and practical food science capability for science graduates and industry professionals, with hands-on learning in a real food processing environment at Murdoch’s Food Centre within the Food Innovation Precinct WA. You’ll learn from academic and industry specialists and develop applied skills aligned to modern food production. Completion can also provide a pathway to further study such as a Master of Food Science. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.
Career outcome
Graduates can advance in the food industry with skills suited to senior and specialist roles across food quality assurance, food safety and new product development. The course also supports opportunities with organisations that service the food sector, including analytical chemistry or biological laboratories and food ingredient suppliers. This is a postgraduate qualification focused on applied professional practice in Food Sciences.
