About the course
The Monash Master of Food Science and Agribusiness is a forward thinking, interdisciplinary degree. It recognises the urgency to address the future of human food supply in the face of global population and environmental pressures, and the dependence of human welfare and geopolitical stability on food supply adequacy and accessibility. This situation is coupled with the complexity of food production and distribution, as influenced and regulated by industry, government and other sectors. The course integrates the knowledge needed to recognise and address future global challenges in food supply.
Career outcome
These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework Level 9 and Monash Graduate Attributes.Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to: Evaluate and integrate knowledge of science, technologies and nutritional impacts surrounding food, and the interdependence of drivers of agribusiness, innovation and food security that affect food supply. Preparing graduates for research scientist, laboratory leadership, and specialist technical roles in the sciences.
