About the course
This advanced course develops specialised skills to work as an electrical engineering technician or draftsperson. You’ll build capability to design and validate electrical systems and equipment, with study areas including electrical design, project management, process control, variable speed drives and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). It also supports upskilling for those already in industry and can provide a base for further tertiary study in electrical engineering at Advanced Diploma level.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue technical and paraprofessional roles supporting electrical design, maintenance planning and project delivery. Career options can include electrical draftsperson or designer, maintenance planner/scheduler, project officer or scheduler, WHS officer, and risk analyst roles in industries that operate electrical systems, process control and automation. Outcomes align with technician and drafting pathways in the electrical engineering sector at Advanced Diploma level.
