This Doctor of Philosophy in Petroleum Engineering is a higher degree by research focused on producing an original contribution to knowledge through sustained, independent investigation. You will work closely with supervisors to develop and complete a substantial thesis, with most of the program dedicated to research rather than coursework. Curtin supports candidates with research facilities, resources and opportunities to present at conferences in petroleum engineering.

Graduates are prepared for advanced research and technical leadership roles in the petroleum and energy sector, applying deep expertise to complex subsurface and production challenges.
