About the course
This combined degree for high-achieving students lets you complete a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) alongside a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours). You’ll build a strong engineering foundation in your chosen specialisation while using the BPhil to add another major from across UWA, supported by mentoring, research activities and optional exchange opportunities. You graduate with two Honours qualifications in under six years in engineering and philosophy. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates combine accredited engineering preparation with advanced research experience and an additional major from any discipline, creating wide career options. Pathways can include engineering roles across many specialisations plus opportunities that leverage the paired major (for example business, science or humanities), as well as readiness for competitive research roles and postgraduate study. This is a Bachelor Honours pathway in engineering with a philosophy research focus. Preparing graduates for graduate engineer, project support, and technical design roles across engineering sectors.
Entry requirements
Minimum ATAR 98 (or equivalent). Prerequisites: Mathematics Methods ATAR and at least one of Mathematics Specialist ATAR, Chemistry ATAR or Physics ATAR.
